SHRED the POWder One Minute POV Video Contest Submission

After 10 days of atmospheric river snow storms to Lake Tahoe resorts, the gloom and doom of November to late January is no longer, there’s elation in the air so would like to invite you to join in the fun by participating in our annual Tahoe powder skiing, snowboarding POV video contest to win prizes for sharing your BLISS OUT shredding time.

First prize: Winner’s choice of omakase dinner set with’s CFO (Chief Fun Officer) at Sushi Sam’s Edomata (218 E. 3rd Avenue), where Osamu Sugiyama has presided over the 10-seat sushi counter since the early ’90s. REVIEW: SUSHI SAM’S EDOMATA, SAN MATEO, CA or enjoy a wine, whiskey or sake flight with SnowPals’ CFO at Vintage Wine Merchants with delectable appetizers at Santana Row, West San Jose CA.

Second prize: Round-trip Ski Bus Day Trip of your choice to any Tahoe resorts (includes: A round-trip bus ride from SF Bay Area to any resorts on the Tahoe Ski Bus calendar, light on bus breakfast, and apres ski snacks, hot cocoa, adult drinks; gift cert expires 4/10/2024). In addition, you’ll receive a $25 resort credit for food or apres ski drinks to enjoy.

Third prize: $25 e-gift card for your choice of Starbucks Coffee, Peet’s Coffee or Philz’s Coffee. Why? Because waking up at 4am to get to Tahoe, we need that steaming hot black liquid aphrodisiac to get eyes wide open for the drive to Tahoe.

Tip: kick it up a notch by using a free online video editing software to edit and add music to your video before you upload it; ie.

How to submit your 1 minute of shredding (skiing/riding) pow video to the contest:

1) Upload your one minute video to Twitter/X, Instagram, or Facebook; then make sure to tag SnowPals and at least one friend to be officially entered into the contest.


Upload to YouTube and include this tag line: SHRED THE POW CONTEST VIDEO ENTRY” as part of the description of your video. Remember to include the date and resort or high Sierra backcountry you recorded this video at. Bonus points for detailing the description of the lift access/trail(s) you took to get to this alpine downhill skiing/riding run.

2) to send us the direct YouTube link/URL to where your video is posted.

By submitting your video to SnowPals’ contest, you agreed to give SnowPals permission to share your video.

The SnowPals Team will pick the top three videos, from which we will run a poll for viewers to select the winners. The poll to pick the winners will run from March 1, and will conclude on March 7 at 11:59 PM PST. Winners names will be announced on March 8 before midnight on SnowPals’ X / Twitter feed.

Powder skiing/snowboarding video contest selection process/rules:

One video entry per person. Videos must be recorded between Feb 1, 2022 until present day. Your one minute video recording must be at a Lake Tahoe/ Sierra Nevada ski resort or Sierra mountain backcountry. Videos must show a skier or snowboarder engaging in skiing/riding powder snow: either first person point of view POV recording (GoPro) or by a ski/ride buddy who has recorded you skiing/riding powder using an iPhone/smartphone.
