Our press contact Steve Hemphill dials us in on $22 SIERRA-AT-TAHOE® lift tickets on Saturday December 22, 2012 when Sierra at Tahoe RECOGNIZES AND CELEBRATES THE “END OF THE WORLD” – really?? 😉
“The Mayan calendar moves in cycles with the last cycle ending on December 21, 2012; many Mayans and others have interpreted this date as the “end of the world”. However, if that doesn’t happen, Sierra Resort™ is ready to celebrate by offering $22 lift tickets* online through Liftopia, the Last Tap beer tasting, live music, food and beverage specials, Mayan hot chocolate, plus holiday festivities to follow!
On December 21, 2012 local micro-brews will go head-to-head and put their best brew forward to snag the last vacant tap at the Sierra Resort Pub. If the Mayan’s were wrong, the winning brew will be featured on tap throughout January for all to enjoy. The Last Tap Brew Off is free for those 21 and over, who have purchased a Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort lift ticket or season pass valid that day. DJ Mo Funk will provide live music for the event.
Sierra Resort is proud to offer guests an unbeatable online special to celebrate December 22, 2012 with the “Mayans Missed It” $22 lift ticket. While the world was supposed to end on December 21 according to the Mayan calendar, Sierra Resort wants to celebrate by offering guests the chance to slide on snow and celebrate staying alive! The lift ticket will be available through Liftopia and can only be purchased online*.
Also, on December 22, 2012 Sierra Resort will offer live music by the horn quintet, Bear Bones, at the base of the mountain and Mayan hot chocolate. Along with our “Mayans Missed It” celebration, holiday festivities will begin and go throughout the weekend. The holiday festitives will include games and activities, like snowman building contests, candy cane limbo, iceberg bean bag toss, and a “Frosty” doughnut eating contest.
Come celebrate the “end of the world” and the holiday season at Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort.
*Limited quantities available; $22 lift tickets are only available at Liftopia.
