Established Ski/Board House is looking for friendly skiers & boarders to join us this winter. We have room for midweek-only and full Members.

4 bedroom 3 bathroom house with 11 beds. Every Member/couple is guaranteed a bed.

Large, warm house across from Donner Lake in Truckee. Save time commuting compared to other Tahoe locations. Tons of level parking spaces and quick access to Hwy 80.

The house is composed predominantly of Bay Area skiers and riders — professionals in our 30s and 40s – who are friendly, responsible, clean and courteous. We’ve also had members from as far as Los Angeles and Utah. Nights at the house feature social chatter over beer or wine, movies, warm fires, and dinners– nothing too wild. If you’re looking for a party house, we’d likely disappoint.

Lease runs December 1-20 and January 5 – April 30 with blackout days for MLK Day and Presidents’ Day. We avoid long lift lines for Xmas/NYE, MLK and President’s Day and AirBnB the house to others during those times.

$1100 for a single (+$250 deposit)

THE HOUSE

In addition to the bedrooms, we have 3 full baths, a mudroom for boot removal and storing jackets, and an open dining/great room with high ceilings and a large fireplace. Well-behaved, friendly dogs are welcome. Our dog Blarney is friendly and hypoallergenic and will try to convince you we forgot to feed him. Other well-behaved dogs are welcome. Pet fee required.

The house is on South Shore Drive across from Donner’s West End Beach. The large, flat driveway is plowed after it snows. Then it’s a half block to Donner Pass Road, a main road that is town-maintained and plowed often.

We’re 3 miles to Highway 80 and 4 miles to downtown Truckee. Sugar Bowl is about 10 minutes away; Northstar, Squaw and Alpine about 25 minutes (depending on traffic).

Basic supplies (firewood, TP, cooking oil, coffee, etc) included in price.

Bring your own towels/bedding or use ours and store/launder them before departing.

Separate laundry room with jumbo washer & dryer

Green Egg grill/smoker and Gas Grill.

Large flat driveway. Parking for up to 8 cars.

Regular snow removal of the driveway.

THE TERMS

All members have homes elsewhere and come to visit the slopes. We limit stays to 5 nights in a given week and 20 nights per month unless prior arrangements are made with Red.

We use a Google calendar for scheduling so you’ll have a sense of how crowded it will be which may help you to schedule guests. Singles will first fill the Bunk Room and Upstairs Room 2. Typically, couples will have a private bedroom though it is not guaranteed. If all of the beds are spoken for, guests can stay in the living room on the sofa or an air mattresses we provide. Members may reserve rooms starting 2 weeks prior and we ask everyone to try out the different rooms rather than treat any room as “theirs.”

Members and Guests are all expected to spend about 10 minutes before departing helping out with small tasks, such as taking out the trash, shoveling, unloading the dishwasher, vacuuming, etc.

Guest fees: $35 per night. Guests may not stay more than at total of 10 nights during the season or 4 nights in any given week.

Individual members pay a $250 security & utility deposit. Couples pay $200/each. Utilities will be paid out of Deposit funds. Any damages will be paid first from the deposit and then by you out of pocket. So you should anticipate a small amount will returned to you.
