Markleeville is a small mountain hamlet in stunning Alpine County. Town has a lovely old library, post office, general store, saloon, old Western hotel, art gallery, and soon, a pizza parlor. Alpine County is true wilderness, but Markleeville is still only 35 minutes from South Lake Tahoe, 25 minutes to Gardnerville, and 30 minutes to Kirkwood Ski Resort. Just 5 minutes from the house is the newly remodeled, natural, outdoor Grover Hot Springs. There is year-round indoor and outdoor horseback riding at the nearby Sheridan Creek Equestrian Center in Gardnerville. Fifteen minutes away is picturesque Hope Valley, with 2 cafes and cross-country skiing. Stargazing is unparalled, as there is no ambient light. Wildlife abounds.
