Welcome to our Tahoma vacation rental home! We hope you’ll choose to make it yours too during your stay at Tahoe. Our cozy cabin is beautifully situated on a wooded half-acre site on the peaceful west shore of California’s legendary Lake Tahoe. We offer you 1100 square feet of country living within short walking distance of the lake’s uniquely clear blue water and pristine beaches. Fragrant forests with hiking, biking and cross-country ski trails at Sugar Pine State Park surround you in an area long known for its natural beauty. It is child-friendly, pet-friendly and smoke-free. Any time of the year, you will enjoy the friendly Tahoma residents and the magnificent lake and surrounding forest for whatever activities you desire. Our cozy cabin is perfect for a family ski trip in winter, a week in the mountains and at the beach in the summer, or a romantic weekend get-away in the spring or fall. Relax in our comfortable atmosphere with a touch of Scandinavian flavor in the decor.

Possibilities abound, whether you want to enjoy in extreme sports or relax, sight see or participate in the Nevada night-life, bond with nature or learn about Tahoe’s history. Nearby places to explore include Meeks Bay, the Sunnyside, Emerald Bay, the Vikingsholm, D.L. Bliss State Park, Sugar Pine Point State Park, Chambers Landing, Homewood Mountain Resort, Pope Beach, the stream profile, Kiva Beach, Baldwin Beach, Tallac Historical Site, the Gatekeeper’s Cabin, the Watson Cabin, Donner Memorial State Park and Emigrant Trail Museum, Cascade Lake, Eagle Falls, the Tahoe Yosemite Trail, Kaspian Recreation Area, Blackwood Canyon, the Ehrman Mansion, Valhalla, the Pacific Crest/Tahoe Rim Trail, the Desolation Wilderness, Granlibakken Resort, the Rubicon Trail and Paige Meadows, to get you started!

Within walking distance you will find a country market, a fine bistro, a pizzeria, a post office, a coffee bar, rental shops for sporting equipment and movies, and a mountain inn. Also within walking distance is our private homeowners’ sand beach and pier, available to guests, and buoys that may be rented during summer. Bring your boat! Our own Marie Sluchak Community Park has a playground, picnic tables, and barbecues. In summer, it offers outdoor church services and free Saturday night movies, concerts and day camps. It is available to rent for receptions or parties.

A bike path through Tahoma takes you to Squaw Valley for a perfect all-day family bike ride. Or perhaps you’d like to hike a portion of the recently completed Tahoe Rim Trail, or float down the Truckee River on a rented raft. Watch for the summer Music Festival, the Truckee Rodeo, arts and crafts fairs, farmers’ markets, or Reno’s Hot August Nights car show. Pick up a free copy of the North Tahoe Truckee Week at any local grocery store to find out what’s happening during your visit.

If skiing or riding is your thing, Homewood Mountain Resort is only three miles away. Take the bus and get a discount on your lift ticket. Also in the area are Alpine Meadows, Boreal Ski Area, Diamond Peak, Donner Ski Ranch, Granlibakken Ski Resort, Mt. Rose Ski Area, Northstar-at-Tahoe, Soda Springs, Squaw Valley USA, Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, and Tahoe Donner Downhill. There are also numerous x-c Nordic trails as well as sledding hills for kids.

Pet fee $15/night or $100/week

Summer Holiday $195/night or $1,200/week

Spring/Fall $135/night or $800/week

Minimum stay is two nights. Holiday minimums are longer. You must be at least 25 years old to enter into a rental contract. Preferred turnover day (arrive and depart): Friday. A 9-day stay is billed as one week plus two nights.
The weekday cleaning fee is $125. The weekend cleaning fee is $150.
The pet fee is $15 per pet per day or $100 per pet per week.
The occupancy tax is 10% of total fees (rental, cleaning, and pet fees) for stays of 30 days or less. A refundable security deposit of $100 per day.
